I've been a patient and now I'm a provider.

About me:

Hey there, I am Dr. Ty! A little about me outside of the office: I am a husband to my amazing wife, Madison. I am also a father to two incredible kiddos that keep me very busy (and tired typically). I enjoy hunting and sports. I am a self-proclaimed coffee and sushi connoisseur. I grew up playing multiple sports, but my favorite was always basketball. My dream job was to be the next Shaquille O'Neal, unfortunately the Big Man Upstairs had other plans for me I guess.

What lead me to chiropractic?

I have dealt with growing pains as a child, heel pain during basketball as a young teenager, as well as chronic low back pain since I was 15. The low back pain was what brought me to a chiropractor's office. I had dealt with it for over a year and then tried the traditional medical route that consisted of muscle relaxers and pain medications, with minimal relief. This made sports pretty unenjoyable for me, and honestly made me not want to take part anymore at some points. My parents finally brought me into a chiropractor, which changed just about everything for me. I did weights with no pain and finally enjoyed getting stronger in the weight room. I set personal bests in my shotput throw my senior year, which was a huge goal of mine. I still am extremely thankful for that Doctor. Throughout my undergraduate years I continued to fall in love with weightlifting, health and wellness, and nutrition. All of which set the foundation for my "philosophy" of care currently.

Education:

It was very apparent to me that chiropractic was certainly where I was suppose to be and I was ready to make it happen as quick as possible. I did my undergraduate studies at Missouri Southern State University and then moved to KC to finish Chiropractic School at CUKC, graduating in 2023.

During school I found a few specific "focuses" within chiropractic that I knew I would be applying in my future practice. Working with athletes and active people was my goal. I knew I also wanted to spend more time with each patient and focus on all aspects of their care instead of only the traditional chiropractic adjustment portion. This lead me into Cornerstone Chiropractic of Southwest Missouri. A practice to treat patients to the best of my ability, and if I couldn't help them then getting them to the next step in care as quick as possible. Thankfully it seems that the Webb City, Joplin, Carthage, and surrounding Four State Area was looking for exactly this style of care.

Care Without Interference

Cornerstone Chiropractic is a self-pay clinic because we believe your treatment should be decided by your actual needs, nothing else. Our philosophy is simple: we provide efficient, results-oriented care that addresses the root of your pain and gets you back to your life—or your sport—fast, and if we can't then we get you to the provider who can. In our office we can spend more time focusing on what really matters: your recovery and performance.
